Portraits of Her
“Portraits of Her” is a Women’s Tribute Project rooted in the Coachella Valley, California. It is my way of giving back to the community I arrived in and have been fortunate to call home and work within since 2022. The series celebrates local women whose leadership, creativity, service, and resilience quietly shape the region’s civic, cultural, and economic life. The women featured represent a wide spectrum of paths—from entrepreneurship and education to the arts, philanthropy, public service, and family life. Many balance professional achievement with caregiving responsibilities, including single mothers whose strength and devotion help anchor the well-being of the desert community. Through portraiture and public exhibition, the project creates a lasting cultural record—one that honors both individual stories and the collective impact of women across the Coachella Valley. I have met, talked, laughed, and spent time with extraordinary women through this project. Every woman carries a story, and every woman holds a light within her. Through my portraits, my purpose is to recognize that light and give it space to shine. Photographing these women has been a true privilege; their strength, warmth, and stories continue to shape the soul of the Coachella Valley.
